Thinking of buying one. What features should I look for?  Are there any
brands to avoid?

                   Thanks

My dad has a john deere and it is most likely on the low end since it is a pull start and the snow blades either pull you forward or you push the thing.  I used it a couple times last winter and it weighs enough that it is a pain to just pick up and load in my suv, but I can do it myself so it is good to take around if I need too.

It starts ok, it has a hand crank for turning which way the snow goes, it works ok but I think it becomes truly useful with a lot of snow.  We did not get a lot of snow but it does ok with not a lot on the ground.

Biggest problem is really wet snow clogging the thing.  But I suspect that could be a problem for them all.
