I had both sides of it. One daughter was a social butterfly that had to have all the attention.... Yeah, I worried about all the boys that followed her around. It's a miracle that she didn't end up pregnant until 26 and is married to a dude that I really like. The other one is a complete social hermit, she's autistic and hasn't been on a real date, even though she's 22. She has social anxiety to the point that she has a hard time holding a job, just got a night stocker position that I hope she can hold. She has a few friends but they are online only. Getting her through high school was a massive pain in the ass. I still can't tell you which was harder, but I love them both.  |

The teenage drama stuff stays into adulthood. I work with a lot of women and even into their 40s and 50s they still do the same shit talking about the other women behind their backs. Half at a time the ones that talk to each other talk about each other One woman in our office was 65 and her ex-husband wanted her back. At 65 she easily passed for early 50s. A nice looking woman who was very pleasant. But when she mentioned her ex-husband and she was going back to him, the other women were extremely jealous and started talking shit. The ex-husband was wealthy and I'm sure that had a lot to do with the jealousy. |
