Glenlivet founders reserve.  Not a bad bottle for $35. I like it better than the Glenlivet 12. It’s on par with the 18yo for me. That is tonight
Last night was a store pick of 1792 single barrel. It was damn good. Another amazing pour at $30.
I still like my high end stuff, but I am very happy with these two choices.

My lovely wife figured out how to acquire a bottle of Blanton's and presented it to me yesterday as a birthday gift. Given that my birthday also happens to be Veterans Day, I uncorked registered bottle # 253, from barrel 1847, Warehouse H, Rick 52 last night and shared the first pours with a buddy who is a veteran and appreciates a good bourbon. It only seemed fitting.

I'm having a bit more this evening, then hanging onto the rest for awhile!  I absolutely love Blantons. Maybe I can convince the wife to chase a bottle for me evey year as a birthday gift?

If you like Blanton's  (as do I) you should give plain old buffalo trace or eagle rare a try.  They are less expensive and usually easier to find.  They aren't as good as Blanton's but they are similar.   I'd tell you to look for rock hill farms or elmer t lee also but they are even harder to find than Blanton's.

I do like Buffalo Trace a good bit- especially for the price. I almost never see Eagle Rare and have not ried it, but keeping an eye out.

Chattanooga Whiskey Co’s 1816 Reserve

Y’all track down a bottle and give it a whirl if you like lower proofs, it’s bottled at 90 proof.

Weller's Special Reserve. Starting to find that I like to keep this around. It's a good "Sunday sippin'" spirit for me.

Last night I delved into Old Grand Dad 114... which I also like to keep on hand and now prefer neat with two small splashes of water.

Breakfast Stout. That's awesome. When I went to Ireland, the B&B served me Guinness with my breakfast.

I had a pour of Talisker 18 earlier today- at a local movie theater complex that has a bar no less! I've never had Talisker, or any Scotch of this quality and  spent probably the first 30 minutes just savoring the aromas. Well balanced, smoky aromas and the the taste mirrored the nose.  Very, very different from the bourbons I normally enjoy.
