Man, I love it. I'm coaching my daughter's 6 & Under team for the third year. We had our first scrimmage Friday. My team is awesome. The other team had 2 girls hit off of coach pitch. I had 2 girls who DIDN'T hit off of coach pitch. There longest hit was to our second base. My daughter hit one to the outfield --- in the air!!   BWWWAHAHHHA.. Man, this will be a fun year. My defence is awesome too. Our pitcher is fast, aggressive and smart. She got lots of outs. Abby has a better glove, but not enough speed. Just as important, my parents are fantastic. I've got a team mom that has everthing taken care of before I ask... I am going to have such a good time this year!!

my niece pitches on a traveling team...........16 years old and her speed approaches the high 60's, and she is a heck of a 1st baseman/outfielder too.........

Sorry but I have to call BS. I have been coaching for 7 years now, with a big focus on pitching and if you have a 16yo throwing in the high sixties you have the next Jenny Finch who on occasion, will hit 70. I see girls hitting 50-53 at 14U and that is damm fast considering collage average speed is 56-63 MPH.  I think that you are likely correct in that she is fast but I would bet upper 50's not 60's
