But its better than ACU that sucked everywhere. Except for that one particular floral sofa.

Waste of money, time, and resources.

There are multiple options available that are better or equal to UCP-Delta in more environments and are already readily available and implemented.

reminds me of a muted version of the 5.11 digital camo.

It does blend in better than the ACU, I prefer Woodland or Multicam but there's nothing wrong with having the proper equipment for whatever the environment calls for.

I would like to see a test against Multicam. I think this would fare pretty well. It seems that many of the guys one here automatically assume that Multicam is the greatest thing because it is the newest piece of gucci gear.
EDIT: Having been in all sorts of areas in Iraq-including some of the lusher areas, I think that uniform would do well.

<––- not a fan of it or the ACU, it may or may not be effective camoflage but it just comes off messy to me from an aesthetic point of view.

Kinda gross looking from a pointless cosmetic point of view, but I bet that stuff works pretty well overall, good mix of light and dark. Once they get nametapes and patches updated, I'd say it looks like a winner. It sort of reminds me of a digital Flecktarn.

They are trialing MC, too. I don't have a side-by-side, but here's a little of both from the current test:

UCP-Delta:

Multi-Cam:

Been done...the Army already proved the MC was by far better...but someone decided to go UCP-pixelated since it looked cool (I guess).

All those tax $ to develop MC and then they sidelined it.

from the photos, it looks like UCP-D is better for that envionment.

So nows there is UCP that worked in urban desert in Iraq and UCP-D that works in Afgan.

What is "universal" about it? Are they going to just issue UCP-D and stop UCP or are they going to have 2 patterns and void that whole thing about not having 2 patterns of uniforms?

It's better, but not by enough honestly.  It's a shame Great Britain went with Multicam (DPMized version), we'll never adopt it now.

If its already available and better than what we have means that it will never be used and will have to spend money developing something that is similar.   By the time it does become available, it will be 6 months later that name tapes and rank will be available in matching pattern.

EDIT:  Reminds me of the one photo with the bunny rabbit.   Bunny still beats ACUs

Looking at this pic, it's a little mind-blowing that UCP got chosen at all. All of those look better! Before picking it, did anyone look at it, you know, outside?
