I can speak from experience, hair does not fall out! It just migrates…….everywhere but your head!

I had several 68’s in various trim levels. Gave a couple project ones away and finally sold the restored one as I never drove it. Had a 69 rag top I let go as well.

H&K 91.  Bought it the day I turned 18.  I had the money saved up for a 91 & a 94.  1986 ban happened just before I was of legal age to buy and afterwards I could only afford one of them.  Picked the 91.  Sold it to pay college bills.

On the subject of cars, I wish I had all the ones my dad bought and sold when I was a kid and just before I was born.

'70 'Cuda
'67 Camaro with folding rear bench (relatively rare)
'70 Nova
'66 Impala
'67 Chevelle
Multiple '69-'72 C-10 pickups

He was a major car guy who would buy, fix, and re-sell.  He built race engines for guys as a side hobby and would sometimes get their "parts car" in trade for the work.

What I figured out a few years ago, is that physically, I can still have it happen. Mentally though, it's only during periods of time when I am virtually stress free, which is rare.

I think that once you grow up your brain just gets far more cluttered with other things, so it shuts of non-vital functions.

As a teen you might be sitting there with literally a blank mind for an hour staring out the window so your brain is like "Alright, lets test all the non-vital systems, engage boner protocol"

As a 40 year old you're sitting there going "I hope the price of fuel oil is going down next quarter" or "When we build our next house I want heated floors" or other random shit like that. Your brain can't fit in the extra stuff as often.

But I'm 99% happy with where I am.  I'd probably screw up more in a do-over.

As far as vehicles go, I still have my 1st and 3rd.  1985 K10 and 1968 Firebird.

2nd vehicle was a 1976 Trans Am.  Worked over 400 Pontiac.  Very fun car.

That one is fixable.

I just had this conversation with my wife. She wants to lose about 20 lbs over the next year. I told her to go for 30 and she said "That would put me at my high school weight".....okay, and?

Not sure why that's a problem, seems like a reasonable goal to shoot for.
