Jo has a gerbil and a German Shepherd. The shepherd eats 14 times as much food as the gerbil. Altogether, they eat 225 ounces of dry food per week. How many ounces of dry food does the German shepherd eat per week?
Someone help me feel less stupid!! |

That's a huge gerbil... |

Quoted: It's a division problem... Yep. And, I like basic algebra, so... If the amount of food the gerbil eats = x, then the amount of food the GSD eats =14x Now we have the amount of food the gerbil eats and the amount of food the GSD eats, so we need to add those amounts together to = 225... x + 14x = 225 Then reduce: 15x = 225 In order to isolate x, divide ( ) each side by 1515x / 15 = 225 / 15 Thus: x = 15 The gerbil eats 15 ounces of food, which means the GSD eats what is left over of the 225 ounces (225-15), or 210 ounces. Or you can keep going with x, e.g. if the gerbil eats 15 ounces of food, then the GSD eats 14 times that amount, and we again arrive at 210 ounces. ![]() Nuked.

Someone help me feel less stupid!! 1 dog 5th grade 14 times 225 ounces per week so that is 52 225-52= 173.....173 + 14 +5 +1 +1= 194....So 194 is the base answer then figure 14 (for the ratio) + 2 animals....you get your answer 210 Rather simple math.. ![]() |

How many ounces of dry food does the German shepherd eat per week? Someone help me feel less stupid!! Dad had 3 more beers before he knew about Joe the Gerbil and his mutt. Dad got dinner fixed and the oil changed in Mommy's car, but didn't do it right... or something... that made mommy yell. Daddy got real quiet. Too quiet. Daddy's quiet scares me. We don't have a dog anymore. And the gerbil is gone, too. ETA: Don't send shit homework with my kids that I don't feel like doing "as a challenge" unless you want a disturbing "creative writing assignment" coming back. If I am going to do my kid's homework... I am going to do the homework that I wish he had been sent home. Prepare your therapist. |

"Fuck this shit, Ill just ask ARFCOM." |

what did one gerbil say to the other? "It's Saturday night; let's go over to Richard Gere's place and get shit-faced".. |
