I'm looking for a small stainless steel tank measuring approx. 24"(L) x 8"(W) x 6"(D).  Can anyone point me in the right direction?  Thanks.

First thing that popped into my head was an Abrams in bright shiney stainless.

There is someone at the FALFILES who sells SS tanks, I remember he had custom sizes and great prices. Plus Brownells.

Very funny guys.  I guess I should have said container instead.  This is for my home parkerizing adventure.

Lauer Custom Weaponry has one that's 6"x6"x40". I think Brownells might have some too.

Does anyone see a problem with using stainless (18-8) food serving pans as a parkerizing tank.  I've found them online for considerably less money than what "actual" park tanks are going for.  The one I found measures 21" x 12" x 6".  This should be plenty big to do AK barrels and receivers before mating them together.

What do you guys think?

I think you are about to be swamped with new friends wanting you to parkerize their stuff.

eta, you can get a beer keg for about $15-$20 and saw it lengthwise if you can get by with 18".  You'll have two pans that way.

That's the thing I'm trying to avoid is the price of custom tanks.

That would be the guy that runs ParkerizingTanks.com, and if you click on the link you will note that he lots the company that made his tanks for him, so he's not taking any orders till he finds another company to make them

ETA: whatcha gonna park? I went down to walmart and bought a large stainless bowl and used it for parking all the small parts for my FAL build, and it's probably big enough for most pistol parts.

My next AK build.  I plan on doing the receiver and barrel separately and then after I press the barrel back in I will coat the thing in either GunKote or Norrell's.

AHH, the Bowl won't work. Before I bought this I was looking for a tank from a restourant supply house but found them still more expensive than I wanted to pay. I planned to check a scrap metal/junk yard, but never got around to it.

Let us know if you find something.

Is this an open top type tank? Find a scrap stainless kitchen sink and have a plate welded over the drain.
