Have you physically handled one? I beg to differ, and twice the price is a bit of a stretch. Quoted:

So it's a Sig clone at twice the price with no aftermarket support? Have you physically handled one? I beg to differ, and twice the price is a bit of a stretch. Years ago. The last time they failed out of the US market. |

I'm waiting for the Sphinx Production guns to come out. I believe that one is a production gun. Correct, first new one I've seen in person. Incorrect. That is their "Compact" line and not their "Production" line. |

That is their "Compact" line and not their "Production" line. Stand corrected, just saw that on their site. What all is different about the Production series, upgrades etc? |

If their "Production" line isn't a reference to the gun games, it moves from mildly strange to WTF. |

Just handled one of these in a local shop. Heavy as hell, but my God what a beautiful pistol. http://i1265.photobucket.com/albums/jj514/ActionSaxon-45/Mobile%20Uploads/image_zpsavh7q50n.jpg So it's a CZ P07 with an alloy frame instead of a polymer one. Interesting. |

I think it looks like a fishbowl full of assholes, but I concede its quality. I handled one a while back but it had no appeal for me. The trigger certainly could have been better. I'd rather have 4 CZ Compacts if it came down to it. Let me know where you're finding those CZ compacts at $300/ea so I can stock up. |

Clue me in here, wtf would I want this in stead of a CZ? A CZ? That is like enthusiasts discussing Rolex watches when someone walks up and asks about a Timex. Not that a Timex won't tell time; and the CZs are excellent guns (I own several). They just are not in the same legue as a Sphynx. |

I shot the compact alpha last week. Badass. There are three versions. The alpha, which has a steel slide and a combo aluminum/polymer frame. There's one that has a steel slide and all aluminum frame which is what the OP posted I believe. Then there's an all steel version that's like 43oz.
It's more a CZ clone but way higher quality. Machining is fantastic and it's very tight and it's better built then a SIG from what I can tell. The ergos are great and it shoots awesome. I will be getting one. But I'm kind of holding out for the production too. But the alpha or all steel compact could be cool. Double action is heavy and stacky though. I think there are some spring kits out there. |

What Sig is this supposed to be a clone of? Looks pretty dang similar to a CZ... Quoted:

That's a big difference but everyone bashes the msrp of sphinx, yet they don't use sigs msrp when comparing it, they use the street price. |
