| What is up with this stuff? Before I got out of the mil we were not allowed to smoke it. I was at work and some kids were there talking about smoking it after work. What are the effects? |

As good an explanation as any. Not yet a scheduled substance, as far as I know, but specifically banned for servicemembers, at least in the Navy. ETA: I think the term "Spice" refers to a whole bunch of different drugs and drug combinations, but that's the one I was briefed on. |

I'd stay away from that shit. You'd be better off smoking herb. [Blue Velvet] Spice? Fuck that shit! Herb! [/Blue Velvet] ETA - "Spice" is not salvia. It's a chemical you sprinkle on some tobacco or other vegetable matter before smoking. Like I said, I'd avoid that shit. |

I think the active ingredient is JWH-018. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/JWH-018 The herb does nothing, it's just a carrier. It's the JWH-018 that does it. I wouldn't touch this stuff. |

I'll drink for 24 hours straight and wonder where everyone is going when they start passing out, but I've never done any drugs in my life. One day a friend told me about it and I said why the fuck not? After wading a rushing river of chocolate and one furry vw bug later, I thought it was fun.

| 4 guys in my dept got kicked out for using it last year. shit is common here and whole bunches getting the boot. it is a bunch of designer drugs in nice shiny packages. theres too many different types and names for it. they made everyone in my dept sign a page 13 saying we wont use it. |

Did a quick search to see what this "Spice" was. Apparently it is just a brand name for a mix of a few common "alternative smokes" available. While I have never had Spice I have tried three of the ingredients in it separately. Blue Lilly, Wild Dagga, and the Lotus flower. They all have very mild effects and you have to ingest a lot of it. None were very pleasant to smoke. This is why you usually see this stuff in extract form concentrated to very high levels. The flowers made decent tea though. I don't know anything about JWH-018 but I can tell you that there are better alternatives out there than the three I have tried in the Spice mix.
Just remember that it is not against federal law to buy or possess these things but it is illegal to sell them for the purpose of consumption by the FDA. You can also run into the various under the influence charges with them. You might want to be careful with the extracts too. Sometimes some very dangerous stuff gets used in the making of them much like some of the illicit drugs out there. To be honest you are better off just drinking some alcohol. At least you know what you are getting yourself into with it. |
