Can you guys recommend a reputable sports card grading company.  I have a few hundred football cards from the late 1970's that I bought as a kid.  They have spent most of their entire life in a box.  I think the only ones really worth anything are the Walter Payton rookie cards.  I have three of those, two in excellent shape.  I'd like to have them graded.

PSA retails for the highest. Go on ebay and look for yourself. I would say they are the best and your cards will fetch more with a PSA rating over other rating companys

I think PSA is the more respected one as well.  Here is a link to their forum....  http://forums.collectors.com/categories.cfm?catid=11
I would look to Ebay and look up different graded versions of the card you areinterested in getting graded and see what the grades go for.  The huge jump is between a perfect 10 and a lesser 9.....and the 10 is tough to get.   If it doesn't have a very strong chance of a 10 it may not be worth the expense of grading unfortunately.  Guys will post scans of cards and ask the guys on the forum for grading advice to see if it has a shot at a high grade.

PSA or BGS.  In my opinion PSA is better for vintage cards.
