I wanted to take a week off this year to go down to South Padre Island Tx for Spring Break but my college holds their break starting march 10-18th. I wont be able to get free to take any time off of work untill March 17th. Im aware that may colleges hold their spring breaks at different weeks in the month but im wondering if the 17th-24th will be a busy weekend or if there will even be any people down there at all? Any help from other college students or recent college grads would be greatly appreciated! |

I was there March 17-24 last year. Should have only stayed until around the 21st because the place started to get over run with certain racial and ethnic groups and thier culture. A quick check of the south padre website says most Texas schools are out 10-17 whereas last year they were out while I was there. Maybe someone else knows what goes on down there after what they call "Texas Week" |
Good info, thank you. Can you give me a demographical estimate of the attendance? Anyone else have any experiences to share? I think last year i went during the normal texas week. |
? Well thank you for randomly posting on here to let me know. If every other person did that then im sure i could have the first 200 page thread and everyone could boost their post count! Anybody actually in the know want to chime in here? |

In college I did Spring Break at North Padre Island (although we went down to Brownsville-Matamoros and South Padre for one day). Our Spring Break was the week before Easter (Holy Week) and it was busy. Met a hot local girl: born-again Chicana college girl who was really built. Eye opening week for a boy from Minnesota. Orlando and Disneyworld see very high occupacy rates this time of year and no real break until after Easter. I wonder how well a married, middle-aged gun nut would do with those drunk college girls? |
