Can you guys school me on this gun? I know someone that wants to sell his to me. Only 4 mags been run thru it. Frame is FDE. Kind of a big gun. Is it as good as a G21?

| I like XDs and XDMs, mostly because of the grip and trigger. I've shot Glock as well, and they are fine reliable firearms, but I didn't like the grip. I've not really had any issues worth mentioning with any XD or XDM gun I have. The first Springfield I purchased was an XD 40, which probably has close to 6,000 rounds through it now. |

Quoted: "Every bit as good as a Glock?"I think it is every bit as good as a Glock but the fan boys will be in to tell you different though. That's not saying much. Why would you insult an XD like that? That's like comparing any car to a Ford Pinto! (Cause you see, Pinto's go BOOM too )You dont measure an XD to a Glock... you measure the Glock to an XD |

I have been a long time Glock guy. In the past two years I have moved a bit to the M&P pistols.
Last month my dad bought an XD and I fell i love with it instantly. I have small hands and it fit me better than the Glock and about equal to the M&P. Muzzle flip was much less than the other pistols as well. I am on the fence now. I need to borrow the pistol to shoot it again, but even then I am so invested in the other pistols I don't know what to do at this point. In reality, if I shoot it better than one of the other two I will unload one and upgrade. I never gave one a second thought but fell in love with it fast. |

Kinda like arguing Chevy vs Ford. You are just gong to get a argument. I've got one and love it. Best bet is to shoot it, then make a decision. What Slade said. I have an XD and it never fails to shoot... except for one time when I put some lightly-loaded match ammo in it. My bad. |

I had one in .40s&w my only problem with it was ammo capacity. XDM held more ammo with a flush mag. Same here. For only holding 12 in the mag it was every bit as wide as my glocks that hold 15. And the high bore made it a little slower for me to shoot. I will say though that its a strong enough design. I saw an XD40 tactical that had been fired with a loaded 9mm round stuck in the barrel, all that happened was a bulged barrel. |

My brother was on the fence about either an XD or a 1911... I took both of mine to the range to let him test drive them to decide what he wanted. I think he ran through 150 rounds and was STILL on the fence. He ended up with the XD. Now watch, all the 1911 worshippers are going to lose it ![]() |

I own one a did carry it every day for a few years.
It's always been 100% for me and I've got a lot of rounds through mine. I've even used it for USPSA matches, so it's been run hard. Still 100% then as well. If you like the way it fits your hand and it points well for you then go for it. I much prefer the XD45 over the Glock21. |

Quoted: Actually...Quoted: Quoted: The only thing I don't like about XDs are the triggers. Why don't you like it? Is it the pull or the actual feel of the trigger? Kinda both actually. 1911s have ruined me for any other kind of triggers I fear. ... I understand this! Shot my buddy's Sig in DA... ![]() |

I guess the 1911 isn't all that great afterall, with only New York 7 round mags. |

Xd's are my favorite pistols next to a semi custom 1911. I wouldn't own one with the stock trigger though. There is way to much takeup and the reset is lonnng. Send it to Canyon creek or Springer precision and you can get a gun with a crisp trigger with minimal takeup and very short reset. Imho the only thing a flock has over them are the short reset on the glock trigger but like I said that can be fixed and then the glock really just doesn't compare. If you are so inclined you can buy a trigger kit with the parts you need to reduce take up and reset. It makes fast shooting/ double taps etc much easier.
I've had glocks, cz's, 1911's, berettas, fn's, Taurus, hk, Sig sauers, kahr's, rugers, and many more. For full size pistols all I have now is a Rock River Arms semi custom 1911 and xd's with worked over triggers. |

Quoted: OBVIOUSLY you took that pic "Pre-BOOM!"Quoted: The Springfield grip handle is like the 1911, whereas the Glock's angle is different to where you have to point it lower. Try both to see which one feels more natural. Edit: never had a misfire! really? http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-M-NTjhvy7gw/T-2iSF1Gv4I/AAAAAAAAAFE/H0Iaig3X90M/s1600/glock1911.JPG |
