Why are mods now locking topics in the Equipment Exchange for a minor infraction as in an early BBT? I asked the other day and kevin said it was for the early BBT and he still hasn't unlocked it yet and I got an e-mail from the guy that he sold it and I couldn't respond to tell him I wanted it, it's true I did e-mail him but he got it to late ,now I'm pissed that I missed a really good deal on black talons because a topic was kept locked long after it should have been opened. Some of the mods here are starting to get a little power drunk if you ask me. And last, where does it say in the Equipment Exchange rules that mods will lock topic for minor infractions? If thats the penalty then it should be posted as such. http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=7&f=25&t=166562 |

Here is the rule regarding BTT or BBT as you put it. Effective 12/21/01, the new Equipment Exchange rules are going to be enforced. 2. No BTT until your ad hits the Fourth page or 72 hours, which ever is sooner. 3. All changes/updates should be done with the edit features to the original post, not by adding another response (ie. “Sly BTT”). 4. Don’t edit a topic to get the later timestamp, thus BTT your Ad (ie. “Phantom BTT”). 5. Don’t use a secondary account to ask a phony question, thus BTT you Ad (ie. “Shill BTT”). 6. Don’t delete an add just to rewrite it again before it hits the Fifth page (ie. “Sam Kinneson BTT”) Second, responding to the original thread or post does not guarantee you are the first to respond and will get the first consideration to purchase the item. If the seller didn't respond to your email in a timely matter that is not the fault of mod that locked the post . Hence your insinuation of mods being power hungry and causing you to miss out on the sale is unfounded. FWIW Kevin, Aimless, Wilson and Stokes are in complete charge of the EE and have never (AFAIK) abused their powers there. so their rulings stand and will have complete backing of the staff.
