I went to lowes and Costco today and while pushing the shopping cart, every few paces and I receive a zap through the shopping cart handlebar.  Less than 5 paces and it's zap!   I gave up and carried everything by hand.  My shoes are rubber sole.  I've been to both stores before and never had this happen to me   What's happening?

I had this happen to me at WalMart recently. I noticed they had replaced the carts with ones that had some kind of new urethane wheel. Beats me; I just put a death grip on the metal part of the handle bar until I was done.

I've had that happen before, but only in Wal-Mart stores.  Always zaps me right in between my thumb and index finger when holding the cart handle.   I think usually it's new shopping carts or new flooring when it happens.  Years ago I remember they actually had a little grounding strap attached to the carts at some of the stores, I assume to prevent customers from getting shocked.

Maybe the cart's anti theft device had malfunctioned.

Thanks.  At least it's not unique to me.  Class action lawsuit anyone?

It's because shopping carts are built for women.
