I thought the Jets were the rough and tumble NJ team and the Giants were suppossed to be the guys with class.

I laughed when I saw that last night, I don't think it was a matter of class I think he was just a bit caught up in the moment.   I don't think the giants will do much this year though

Story behind it?

I trust the player in question was immediately suspended and will be fired and barred from future NFL employment to set an example, right?

Right?

He can't claim that was an accident, having driven the ball into the guy's face from five yards away.

Any word out of Mr. Goodell's office on this?

At first I pulled for the Jets as they had sucked for so long and were starting to climb out of the cellar. Now, I am so fucking sick of the The Rex Ryan show and all his mouthing off about the Patriots I can't stand them any more.

Kind of a dick move in the video. No "my bad man!". I guess he was too busy deciding which obnoxious dance to do in the endzone.

Honestly it looks like he may have considered throwing the ball into the stands and spiking it at the same time and it ended up just being thrown at eye level.  The ball was thrown poorly.

The Giants are set up as one of the "Good guy" teams in the NFL, or what they call in wrestling terms a "Face". They won't get any undue negative attention.

Goodell is making sure to crack down on his "Heel" teams by levying enormous fines for helmet to helmet hits that weren't.

No question that it came out of his hand funny...but the lack of a "My bad" is bullshit.

I saw that last night...  man.

It looks like it bounced off his face and then hit the camera.  Man that dude is probably regretting being in that spot this morning.

I can't stop watching it.

What a POS....he could have atleast apologized for it or went over there to make sure the guy was ok if it was an accident.

Dudes on the sidelines get hit all the time; it's the nature of sitting on the side of a fast moving contact sport..  That one could have at least included an apology or something.

Its a Giants intern that got hit.

He meant to throw it in the stands, but obviously his aim was off.

And I agree. These things happen at professional games. I would say it was an accident.

Apparently he "hugged" him later in the Giants locker room.

That's not an incidental hit.  That's not a guy crashing into the sidelines and taking down a cameraman.  That's not a guy in the wrong place at the wrong time.  That's a deliberate throw at someone's head for shits and giggles.

Not in the face, with a football, thrown intentionally from 5 yards away.  That is NOT the nature of the sport.

accident? seriously? thats as accidental as aiming your pistol at someone and pulling the trigger knowing the gun is loaded.
hes a trained football player..what did he think would happen if he threw a football at someones head that was 5 feet away? im no athlete and can do the same..i know cause ive won stuffed animals at a carnival!

If that was intentional the dude should be sued, charged with assault, fired etc etc etc  If it was an accident, hes an asshole for having not darted over there immediately to check and see if the guy was ok and apologized

I have a hard time thinking he was intentionally trying to hit the guy. Maybe trying to look into the camera while drilling the Monday Night Football sign? The guy is wearing clothes that might blend in with the sign from the players view, given his excitement level and everything that's happening, and he just got a case of tunnel vision and didn't see the guy.

He should issue an apology but I'm guessing the guy was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

My first impression is that he was trying to  throw it right past the camera.

Its hard to tell from a gif.

He was looking up into the crowd of thousands of people after he just picked up a ball on defense and scored. He didn't even know he had hit someone until he was in the locker room after the game. He apologized to the kid.

You don't know fuck all  about football, do you?

That  duck came out of the top of his hand...it was just an awful throw.

He's a dick for not apologizing to the guy, though, especially considering the kid is a Giants intern and was wearing a Giants jacket.
