Not this issues specifically, but go to the steam library, right click the game, then find the button to verify game cache. That fixes a lot of issues with installed games.
Not by my steam computer so I can't give you more explicit instructions. Then the old "make sure your video drivers are up to date " generic advise. |

Steam can not determine what kind of video card/ driver I have. I have a Dell Dimension 3100 and windows system properties says "generic VGA adapter" and all the drivers are up to date. The game has never loaded so I can't verify the cache. |

The verify option tests the game files on your local computer to make sure that they didn't get corrupt on download. If you installed it, you can verify it. Do you have any idea what video card you have? I think there are some diagnostic utilities that you can use to help you identify the chipset, but I'll have to look and see if I can find one for you. |
