One of his movies are playing on USA right now. Is it me or does this guy play the same damn character in every single one of his movies?

Steven Seagal Redeems Himself As "Cock Puncher" Steven Seagal quote " I don't think you have the balls." |
Yes Cock-Puncher was a funny ass item in that movie. If Seagall can poke a little fun at himself he can't be all bad. |

lol beat me to it! |
I don't think so. washedupcelebrities.blogspot.com/2007/06/steven-seagal.html snip "Steven Seagal, born April 10, 1951, is an action movie actor best known for his unique brand of martial arts used in his films. Seagal is a 7th-dan black belt in aikido and as a young adult was an aikido instructor in Japan before moving to Los Angeles, California at which point he was noticed by entertainment executives who gave him his first movie role in Above The Law in 1988." snip "Reports have also surfaced that Seagal has been rough on stuntmen. During the filming of 2001's Exit Wounds, he injured a number of stuntmen and his co-star, DMX. According to Steven Quadros, a fight trainer, Seagal has been known to "kick guys in the nuts to see if they were wearing cups." Seagal was also at the center of an incident in which stuntman and judo master Gene Lebell confronted Seagal over this abuse of stuntmen and reportedly put Seagal into a Shime-Waza (i.e., "sleeper") hold, choking Seagal unconscious." snip I saw something on TV years ago where a stunt man was being interviewed about his work. He said he had worked with just about all the action hero types over the years, as the typical bad guy that gets beat up in a bar fight and thrown through the window. He said that Seagal was the only actor he ever worked with who scared him. He said all of Seagal's moves were "killing moves" and he didn't always hold back enough to avoid hurting people. Seagal has blimped up, and always plays the same character, and has jumped the shark a long time ago, but - stunt men don't like working with him because he's too dangerous. |

I met Steven Seagal at a martial arts tournament in the early eighties. Arrogant SOB. Really good, and he knew it. I spent a couple hours with Chuck Norris at two separate tournaments in 1989 and 1990. One of the other sensei in my college martial arts club was from Chuck's Philadelphia dojo. Hell of a nice guy, and he remembered my name at the second tournament. |
I don't think that contained any original acting. |

Oh come'on guys...calling Seagal lame? His movies were very formulaic, but dammit if they weren't entertaining! In every movie, you could count on him to give a guy an extra elbow, or do that hand chop cross the throat move, or break a guys neck over his hip while bending him in a way that isn't natural...and he DOES love M1911's. When these movies were being made, it was during the "Lethal Weapon" era of movies where gunhandling in movies was pretty fucking lame...at lest Seagal looked like he knew what he was doing with his gubbermint models. Now...when he got all involved with all of the spiritualistic tree hugging, hippie, fruit crap...he became lame, but hell...he was still somewhat entertaining. Hax |
