OK, I picked up a secondhand Streamlight Stinger with both the home and car chargers.  So far, I have been very impressed with the light.  Here's my question.  Can you leave this light on the charger indefinitely, or does it only need to be charged occasionally (when the light begins to dim).  It seems that its set up to stay in the mount for easy access, but I am not sure about whether it should remain plugged in.  Thanks!

We have about twenty of them here at work and we leave them on the chargers constantly and have seen no ill effects.

How has the battery life been?  Have you replaced any batteries yet?

We replace them about every year. But understand that these lights get deep cycled several times a day, so needless to say these see some heavy use. You should be good for longer for normal use.

I've had the same light for maybe 4 years.  I use it every day at work.  Its had ONE bulb, replaced recently, and still runs on the original battery.  I keep a spare on hand for the extremely rare instance that I actually use it up in one day.  I've had the lens/reflector assembly replaced once due to a cloudy lens.  They get beat up pretty bad working on cars... but its one of the best diagnostic tools there is.  A really bright light can find problems you will overlook many times before finally finding it.

I've used them for over a decade. The bulbs seem to last about two years; every three years or so I have to replace the battery.
