| Is it all it's cracked up to be? am I going to miss my brighter light or is it worth the sacrafice for the tiny light |

28 lumen is not near enough . I'm coming from a PT2L and this is what I'm worried about... It's a big drop in light. Hell, it's 15 bucks, I bought 2 (one for my work partner... We had to clear my yard the other night and he didn't have a light). I figure it won't kill me to have a backup light worst case |
| I love my Streamlight(s). When the Pelican rep. showed up at work I told him the best Pelican I ever owned was a Streamlight. He agreed that they make the best light out there for the price range. I carry three of them on my turnout gear, one on my coat and two in my pants pockets. I carry one on my Brush coat too. I also have three on my TAC gear(Tactical Paramedic). |

Ive had a PT2L in my pocket everywhere I go for years. Ever since I found myself without my primary light in a foot chase and didn't have a backup (I know... Rookie). Since then I've bought a spare stinger and a pair of PT2A's (wife has one at work and one in her night stand now) as well as a Protac HL. I've never had a problem with any of them so I figure I can't go wrong. Every light has a place In My house |

Well shit. I just ordered one to find out. My new favorite EDC light is comparable but a bit cheaper and brighter. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IEMUOWU/ref=psdc_2445457011_t2_B00143JZ08 I can't seem to stop myself! |

Finding things in your range bag, under the sofa, checking a tire, reading old pencil written notes on your electrical breaker, etc. etc. etc. - that's where the Microstream is king. |

I've been trying out a coast G15 that I got in an LAPG grab bag to see if I can get used to such a small light. So far I've been able to make do |

Yea lol, I should specify that this is for off duty. On duty I have a stinger, Protac HL, PT2L, and TLR1s. And yes, they have all come in more than handy. Off duty my light is usually used to find my kids toy under the seat in the car or illuminate behind an appliance while I'm fixing something etc... With the off chance that I may have to use it to find my way to my better light in an emergency. |

I have a streamlight protac 1AAA is about $25, but has a brighter hi beam and is ten tap programmable. 5 lumens on low is plenty of light for paperwork. I love it.
The pelican 1910 is good too. It has a hi and low, and is just a little bit bigger than the streamlight protac. |
| The microstream is a good light. I love pretty much all streamlights. I own several. If youre looking for a bit more light, look into the Stylus PRO usb. It's my EDC. Its a bit longer than the micro but it is incredibly bright and I love having a rechargable as my EDC. Uses the same type of charger as my phone and the battery lasts a good while with regular use. I charge mine maybe once every 2 weeks or so. That's with mixed use, sometimes just for a quick glance at something, sometimes at work when my stinger isnt within reach it'll get some extended use. Dont think I've ever had it die on me when I needed it. |
| I love Streamlight. The performance for the dollars is spectacular. TLR1 HO are my current weapon lights. The long range model on my AR gives me the option of engaging targets up to 200 yards away which is incredible. They are some bright mofos. I have a 4 Sevens pen light that my wife snagged which is a very good light.I have two other CR123 flashlights in my day bag if I need more light. |

Yea I have the AA Protac and while it's an excellent light, I'm gearing towards a more minimalist setup I guess (and my wife stole both of them lol). The micro should be here tomorrow or Wednesday so worst case scenario it gets tossed in the console of my truck and I stick with the PT2L for carry |

I wore the rubber off the button on the first one after a little over a year of daily carry. Immediately got a second one. After a few months of daily carry and I thought I had lost it....went and immediately bought another and then found the missing one the next day lol. So I currently have 3, one is worn to shit but still works fine. That original one has seen some heavy use. Including being tossed into a 10ft deep pool at night. We threw it into the deep end repeatedly and would dive down and recover it by feel off the bottom in the dark. It was also cool to swim underwater and use the light to look for coins we threw in to look for.
I will probably always carry one of these. If this thread takes off I will post my one complaint....but honestly only people that have purchased and used several of these lights might even know what I'm talking about...and it has to do with the clip lol. Basically the older version of the clip is better than the current/new style of clip. They have indeed changed the clip and I don't like it...I actually swapped the old clip onto the new light bc i don't like the design. |

Whichever one you get, I'd recommend having a streamlight nano on the keychain, as well. http://www.dillonprecision.com/uimages//19942_Streamlight_Nano_m.jpg I don't doubt it's useful... But I hate having shit on my key ring... So much that I have different key rings for my vehicles with a car and house key on each. My main one has a very small multi tool on it and even that bothers me. That would drive me nuts |

I have Streamlight Nanos on all of my keychains, in my truck, my car, my backpack, etc.
I don't really have experience with the microstream, my next size step up is a Surefire Outdoorsman E1L. |

In that case, just get a coin cell squeeze light, for a buck, or two. I almost bought the MicroStream Nano a few years back, but didn't. My GF sells those cheap 3/5 LED 4 button cell lights for $4, which work well for a year, or two, until the split ring wears through the eyehole and the light falls off, lol. I carry the EagleTac D25C Ti. clicky, or a Sunwayman V11R. Both are real flashlights. Chris |
Came in yesterday but the delivery guy apparently hid the box behind a chair on my porch and I didn't notice it until this morning . Played with it a bit as soon as I found it and I have to say I'm very impressed with the little thing. I got it on amazon and wasn't really sure if it was gonna be a new one or the old model based on the price compared to others I found. I'm assuming it is the new model based on the clip and it's rated 35 lumens which was a nice bonus since I was expecting the 28 that I had heard of. I think this will be plenty bright for most of what I use a light for daily. My only complaint is the on off button is really pretty tight but hopefully after some time it will become a little better.

I did a review of the microstream, as well as two other streamlights.

I think this little micro will definitely have a place in my pocket off duty. Hell its small enough that I really just may add it to my work load out too |
