All 3 guns had malfunctions.  My new TRP commander had 1 failure to feed out of 98 rounds.  My Zev oz9 hypercomp had 1 ftf and 2 light primer strikes.  The Sig fuse had at least one ftf on every mag. All gums were cleaned and oiled last week.

Really disappointed with the Zev because I love that gun. The fuse is the first 365 variant of mine that has malfunctioned.  Right now it looks like sig got me this time.

Still better than any day at work.  Any good range days today?

I've never oiled my gums before.   Does it replace mouthwash?

Not a bad day. Wife and I brought a pair of Hellcats - our new CCW pieces - and a Smith M&P 5.7.

The 5.7 had a FTF, I suspect the lady limp-wristed it a little. Zero problems with the Hellcats. About 100 rounds through each.

The Hellcats shoot nicely. But ... That Smith.  All it needs is tracers and it's a stand-in for a laser gun.

The thought crossed my mind.  But I haven’t had this problem all summer when shooting other 45 and 10mm 1911’s.  Plus I don’t think that flies with the hypercomp.

I went to the range with my wife today and she forgot her gun at home.
My wife wanted to go with me to the range but not until the Vikings were done playing.
Since this was going to be a 3 hour delay in my plans plus 30+ minutes for her to get ready and the range closes early on Sundays I decided to get her pistol out of the safe and load magazines.
I told her that her gun, magazines, and holster were set out on the workbench for her to check over and pack.

We get to the range and she asks where her gun is at.
She packed the magazines and extra ammo but somehow assumed that I packed her pistol.
Luckily one of our sons had brought an extra gun.

Obligatory picture of gun and Blanton's.

I will not expect any 1911 to work 100%. If it does work I consider myself lucky and the gun is a keeper.

I've wasted so much money on a like new Colt 1911 5" trying to get 3 well known "expert" smiths to eliminate a 1 in 50 rounds FTFeed phantom. They say it's fixed, you pay them with a smile, and it does the same damn thing next time again at the range. Yours may break-in with another 5 boxes, but who knows until you blow thru all that ammo.

A friend of mine just bought a new Les Baer. The manual says about malfunctions "Do not call or contact us, until you shoot 500 rounds" "Do not clean the gun, oil and shoot"... Not direct quotes, but very close.

I had 1 failure to feed yesterday with my 1911.  My reloads, worked fine the second time around.

Two months. I put the paperwork in on July 5th and got the approval September 6th but wasn't able to pick it up until yesterday.

This has been my experience with every 1911.  Not necessarily unreliable, but I was never surprised when they did have a malfunction.  Probably 1/100.  Going even further, I dumped all my other pistols, and have exclusively Glocks...short of an old beat up P95 that has sentimental value, and that is still more reliable than any 1911 I've owned.  But I don't consider myself a "gun guy" anymore.  I just need it work when it needs to work.

How many rds on zev?  Mine was tight and the first 150ish rds were not bobble free.  After that it's ran like a raped ape.  The light strike could be debris/lube in striker channel or a too weak striker spring.  I'm pretty sure zev puts a lighter than stock striker spring in and that can be more susceptible to hard primers/debis in channel.

I had a similar range day with a suppressed MK18 (10.3) and Tommy UMP .45.

The Zev is right at 180 rds.  It’s so easy to shoot tight groups with it.

My buddy has a Zev, extremely easy gun to shoot but he constantly has light strikes and occasional fails to feed, I don't think we've had a shooting session without one, at least 1k rounds on the gun at this point.

Might try swapping the channel liner with a factory Glock one, my dad had similar issues with his Zev slide and swapping the liner seemed to fix it, my buddy still hasn't swapped his to see if there is an improvement.

My last ones were approved in 43 days.  Mid July to end of Aug.  Both in a trust.

Yesterday is always the best day to buy NFA.

Last malfunction I had was early spring, my most shot Dagger wouldn't extract steel cased magtech, but it runs great in everything else, just opened my 3rd case this year. The Dagger functions fine with AAC brass cased stuff. It has a worn extractor, I bought a new Glock extractor to replace it with and haven't messed with it yet.

Other than that, haven't had a malfunction in awhile.

I had a not so great range day the other day.
1. Apparently you are supposed to clean the BCG and firing pin of a SBR that runs suppressed full time.
A squirt of oil on the charging handle and BCG are not gonna get it.

2. I was shooting .300 Blk and only that.  I stupidly did not have all my mags marked and had a fellow shooter lay a pmag off 5.56 on top of my .300 blk mags...  When I discovered it, I freaked out, I thought I had somehow loaded 556 in my mags and thought that the fresh box of .300 blks came mixed with 556.  After a few mins of WTFing, I figured out, it wasn't my mag, it had a grey button on the bottom and all mine I think are black.  I ordered 2 12 packs of those rubber mag bands and a Silver Sharpie...  That mix up, could have caused me or the other shooter a rifle, hand and or face...

3. Apparently, my knees are shot.
I can get down and shoot prone with no issues, but shooting while kneeling, not going to happen unless I have no choice, then its debatable...

Lol. Until they do. My uncle bought a brand new Ruger GP100 in 357, and a few boxes of CCI Blazer aluminum case 38 special. First cylinder full, 1 shot, the other 5 unfired primers in the other rounds backed out, tying up the gun. It was a bitch to get that cylinder out.

Close but not exactly.  They do say it needs 500 rounds of break in. They say they do not recommend disassembling before break in and not to remove the lube applied from the factory before the break in.

I've seen bad ammo that the case would swell out of the cylinder just enough to prevent the cylinder from rotating.
