I hope to hell that thing doesnt decide to go off when I go to Colorado in June...........if it ever erupts, there will be lots of havoc akin to a nuclear event.........I feel for those in the way

What's better against a Super Volcano, 5.56 or 7.62?

7.62 gigatons, nuke it from orbit, it's the only way to be sure

I forgot this was on until I looked at TNO's thread about the royals.  I would ask what I missed, but it is pretty obvious.

Good gravy, this is some scary sheet! Talk about ultimate SHTF scenarios.

Mexico closes it's borders to US citizen refugees... Inferred that Mexicans could cross.

Kinda gets you thinking about how the "World Community" would respond to a major disaster in the US. One that we could not address ourselves.

I bet they would let us fucking sink.

they should have called it Stargate: Super Volcano

I think every recurring and one appearance guest star from SG1 was on

I am planning to go to Yellowstone in September.

Anyone else been there?
Any advice for planning a trip here?
Reserveations, places to stay?

Thanks

To put things in perspective...i'm in Florida, and just BARELY out of the range of direct effects that are
predicted for a "worst case" scenario for the Yellowstone supervolcano.

If that should pop,  the best bet is to migrate to the southern hemisphere.   For the most part,
the atmospheric circulation patterns between the northern and southern hemispheres are
pretty much isolated from each other.     If the Yellowstone supercaldera were to let loose,
it would probably render most of the Northern Hemisphere virtually unlivable for a period of
several years following the conclusion of the eruption.

Yoiu'd be well advised to move to Australia...WITH your guns.

Asked that here a couple months back, but things got too busy to go this spring.  Got
some decent responses though.

Yes
What do you want to do? (Take pics ?)
Stage Coach Inn. West Yellowstone in Montana. It is a hotel that would remind you of long ago. Big staircase , no elevator. Eat at "Eat" in West Yellowstone. Very good food.

<---------------lives 90 miles away.   The cabins behind the Old Faithfull lodge are excellent.  The lodge is fun and cool, but stay in the new part, not the original, unless you like to share a bathroom with everyone else on the wing.

Go to West Yellowstone.  Cool town.  Makes for a great day trip.

One last and absolute must!!!!!!!! Go to the firearms museum at the Buffalo Bill Historical Center in Cody, WY.   You will be ahhhhh struck.  It is IICRC the largest collection of firearms in North America, maybe the world?  They have one of just about everything.

It was a decent attempt. They didn't go into likely afterwards effects as much as I'd like to have seen. Yeah, sure, they said that temps would go down by as much as 20 degrees, and that the monsoons stopped, but they didn't say what either would mean. That's easy: little or no crops for several YEARS, worldwide famine, people killing each other for what little is left., 75+% population loss worldwide. Possible ice age trigger, partial collapse of the ecosystem.

Too scary to the sheep to mention. Besides, the Royals are more important to most of them anyways.

They do piss me off with the 7 mins of show, 3 mins of commercials though. Sheeze.
