Everyone seems to have forgotten Trump appointed 3 of the justices. If it goes before all 9 they would have to recuse themselves. if they don't, Democrats cry foul and pack the court. If they do, Trump possibly loses this but we keep our majority on the SC unless President Potato gets to appoint another.

I’m pretty sure that “you can’t punish without a trial” predates even the constitution,(was in the Magna Carta ), is an integral part of the constitution. So as I understand it since there hasn’t been a trial for 3+ year old events there can’t be punishment.
