I have owned a lot of surefire lights(M900, M600c, M500a 4 X300s, M2 Centurion and now an X400)  and have never needed to return anything. I was beginning to think their lights were indestructible. The M2 I have had for over 6 years and dropped it one night wading in the water from a reef I was fishing. I returned the next morning and found the light still on in about 4 feet of water. I still use that light to this day.
I finally managed to break the rear latch on my X400 after slamming my rifle on the ground during a mag change while prone.
I emailed them to tell them what happened, they gave me an RMA the same day with the message "We will take care of it" and now I have my light back two weeks later. I cannot have imagined them handling it better. I will continue to spend my money on the what I consider to be the worlds best lights.
Just thought I would share my experience. I would rank them right up there with LaRue and GearSector in terms of customer comes first mentality.
ETA: Pic of the rifle for those with short attention spans

Their products are overpriced, but their CS is pretty good.

Surefire CS kicks ass. Buy with absolute confidence.

I've bought a couple lately to go with my ageing 6Z.

Their CS is A1.

The only downside is they don't ship to FPO.

I bought an m952v and stripped out a screw hole swapping the mount.

Took them about 5-6 weeks to get mine back to me.

I love their lights though. Overpriced can be true unless you're looking at something no one else offers. No one else sells a light equivalent to the Vampire series, so I stick w/ surefire.
