| Just picke up a new Surefire G2 with the LED. HOLY CRAP IS THIS LIGHT BRIGHT! I used to carry a Streamlight rechargable Stinger on my duty belt. That is going in the drawer and this new G2 is going to replace it. I will try to post some pics tonight of the difference between the two. |
While you are updating, pick up the rechargeable conversion for your G2. It's my duty light now with a regular G2 LED as a back up. |
With the LED the G2 can produce up to 80-90 lumen and the runtime is 12 hours, the light is not regulated so the light will get dimmer as the batteries are consumed. It uses two c123 primary batteries. |
To answer your question, yes you can buy a conversion kit, it's called the P60L I believe and it's just the light head. Another idea to toss about in your head. I got a Surefire 9P which is a 3-cell CR123 metal body light, and took the LED head from my G2LED and put in it, and well, more juice, brighter light!!! The best part about the G2LED is the fact that you get 10X the battery time that the standard G2 has. I first got mine about 2 months ago and have only replaced the batteries once, and I work evenings... |
Thanks for the info...time to got harass Brightflashlights.. |
yup i went to harass him after i saw his post about the g2 led. awesome little light for the money. |
and my incandescent G2 is now a (backup) nightstand light.
