I posted this in the lights forum, but I know this one gets much more traffic...

I'm sure it's been covered, but I did a search and didn't find anything.

Does anyone have this LED head? I just picked one of for $20, figured I couldn't go wrong with that price. It's supposed to be 19 lumen's, which seems really low since my old P61 lamp was 120 I think. Are LED and incandescent bulbs rated different or is it that dim of a light? I put it on my 6P and will try it out tonight, but after reading the 19 lumen part I expect to be disappointed.

Surefire LED head?

Surefire sells LED conversion bulbs which are 80 lumens and last for 10-12 hours on 2 batteries...$35 IIRC

Yeah, it's a surefire KL3 3 watt.  Everything I've seen online says it's 19 lumen's.  I just picked it up at the BX cause it was only $20.

Well hopefully it has crazy long battery life. Until 2 days ago my EDC flashlight was an L1, definitely bright enough to light up a room on the 25 lumen "high" setting. Not super blinding, but bright enough.

It's supposed to have 4 hour max output, and another 50 hours of lower output.

Huh...mine had 25 lumens, then it would only work on the "low" setting. No gradual reduction like that.

I used it daily, for long periods each day, and I think I only changed the battery 3 times in 8 months.

In any case, $20 for that head is a great deal.

I have a 6P LED and love it. Way better than my old 6P.  Got it from Brightflashlights in the EE.
