I don't post here often but I have a very specific question. What do you think of this kit? http://www.samsclub.com/shopping/navigate.do?dest=5&item=414135&pid=_Froogle&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=521236

If it's not a good choice, what would you choose?

ETA: I would add a Glock 19 to the bag, of course.

Better than nothing, but always better to put your own together.

We have a survival forum here, under the Outdoors tab, that has an abundance of info on such things.

I would recommend skipping that kit, and looking at this instead, for a home-based "bug in" kit, all from Walmart:

36 pack of 16.7 oz water bottles - $6 for 600 ounces, which is about a week of drinking water for 2 people, or 3 days of drinking, bathing, washing, etc., water
4 18 oz jars of peanut butter - $9 for 64 servings of 190 calories, totalling 12,160 calories, roughly 5 days rationed food for 2 people
Crackers and plasticware - $5
1 decent first aid kit - $20, or $5 for one equivalent to the one in the walmart kit
Lighters, matches, cotton balls, and travel sized vaseline, for fire starting.  $8
Spare clothes
Heavy blanket(s)

And go from there.

not exactly quality components in that package, best bet is to get an old backpack and put together your own pack
