Softball is a pretty good money maker for OU. But also Title IX won't allow defunding.

From what I can see it's the single biggest money loser among every sport they field.  But you're right about Title IX.

Yep, or the Tampex Bowl.  Hell, I thought the old Bluebonnet Bowl was bad enough.

The first season at Love's Field will go down as a successful one for Oklahoma softball.

On Monday, the Sooners' softball account on X (formerly Twitter) announced attendance of 86,581 fans for the regular season in the first year at the new venue.

Isn't that more than da U football draws in a year?

Touché.

Nothing worse then enjoying a game in the Big House and out of nowhere a dude with a beer belly bumps into from the row behind.   Crammed like sardines at that stadium.

I don't know if I'm going to be a fan of CFB after all the dust settles. Maybe I'm being excessive on my prediction. But if this thing just becomes a minor league system. I don't see the appeal.

I don't give a shit about minor league baseball, hockey, and basketball teams. If Oklahoma Sooners become the "Red River Rattlers", but kept the school name, I just feel all the magic about CFB is lost.

There will always be college football as we knew it.

May not be at the traditional football power houses every one likes to talk about, but drop back a level or 2 and it will be young men playing for love of the game and to get a degree hopefully he can make a living with.

I will always follow the Beloved Tigers of Clemson University as I spent 5 years of blood, sweat and tears to become a Clemson Man.  Truth is, if they only play Citadel, Wofford and Furman I will still yell just as loud when they do well and cuss just as hard when they do bad.  Oh, and loathe the chickens from middle of the state....

Im not sure I'm sold on Texas @10.5 just yet. If I were a betting man, I would pick the under.

Other than beating Bama (which is quite an accomplishment at their place) they struggled with 4-8 Houston, 5-7 TCU, and had to pull one out in OT Vs. 7-5 Kansas State.

Who’s left in the big 12?
Shedder is pretty good, but he will hold onto the ball too long. Their O-line has no continuity and I think they expect their best guy will be a freshman. Their best receiver graduated. The defense is pretty suspect too. I don’t think they will be great, or really very good, but they could end up in a CCG. I guess I think of OU and Texas when I think of the Big 12.

OU hasn't won big 12 since 2020.  Baylor, Kansas State, and Texas won the last 3
