I like the Clash, but I never understood the whole "punk rock" thing.

Their records are just as produced as any Beatles album and their music is quite good.

Punk rock has an intensity that the Clash music does not.

Still one of my favorite bands.  The first L.P. I ever bought was Sandinista.

The only good song they had was a pop song, and they ruined even that with a clap track.

The Clash sucked.

I'm a conservative 63 yr old republican who prefers classic music but still love to listen to  "God Save the Queen" and "Hey Oh, let's go" style punk music. (.....but when nobody's watching)

I remember that my grandmother sat at a table right next to them at Mi Tierra in 79 or 80.

She didn't even know their name but was shocked at their dress and the attention they garnered.
