Since there seems to be a large number of members here that are unable to respond to posts they do not like with anything more profound than the use of insults topics seem to get locked fairly frequently around here. ASSWEB-like for sure. Just to make a final response to RIKWRITER in the locked thread. Duh, there is a reason that soldiers are VERY YOUNG. They do not know any better. They are easy to brainwash. They are easily trained to follow orders without thought. All the more reason that those that DISRESPECT them are the ones that WASTE their lives FOR NO PURPOSE other than some grandiose NWO strategy to bring "democracy" to where it has never AND NEVER WILL exist. For people like Bush and Rumsfeld, young American boys are just pawns to move around on the global gameboard. Mike |
| The reason soilders are young is because most enlisted get out after 4 years, the life is very lonely and isnt for most, but I was never brainwashed. Troops are taught to obey orders w/o question becuase other live could be at stake and it is important that evryone in a unit knows this, but it is no concern to those who have never served anyone but themselves. Sorry guy but to say that this commander and cheif treats troops like pawns just goes to show you do not know what you are talking about. |

OK, so 18 year old boys are stupid and will follow orders - so how to explain a 42 year old Master Chief Petty Officer with a master's degree following orders ... I guess I'm just brain washed or understand something about life that you'll never learn no mater how old you get nor the amount of education you obtain [:)]. Ever think that 18 year olds are in the best physical shape for molding into fighting men? We missed our mark with you apparently. I take boys and make them into men for a (good) living. I form their bodies and their minds. I give them strength and direction. I teach them how to read a compass and how to follow a morally correct path. Some are not strong enough, mom and dad didn’t give the service enough metal to work with and we routinely send them back after their first enlistments. Still clueless aren't you? The words honor, courage, and commitment are so foreign to you that you struggle to even come to a weak understanding of the concept of military service. You believe that our service members must be as shallow as you, that their lives are as worthless as yours. You live in a moral vacuum full of worries about what makes you feel good for the moment not understanding the nature of what happens to you and around you. Trust me; my men do not feel that way. I knew more about life at age 21 then anyone I grew up with; mature beyond my years due to the military way of life. Years from now it will all be too late for you.
