What are your experiences with hd tvs so far?  Any one have problems with a certain kind?  Which one is going to cost me the least amount say over the next 6 or so years?  And finally what do you have and are you happy with it?

There are a huge number of variations out there.  It would be a bit easier if you narrowed it down to a category or even a display technology.  For example:

Direct-view
- CRT - not many options here anymore
- LCD - can hang on wall, tend to be higher native resoution, blacks not as black.
- Plasma - can hang on wall, heavier, higher power usage, tend to be lower native resolution, better blacks.

Rear Projection - costs less for large TVs, requires more space and usually a stand, can't be hung on walls, not quite as good a picture as direct view.
- LCD
- DLP
- LCoS/SXRD

Front Projection  - huge screens, need to be able to control light, requires separate audio and separate screen, permanent installation.
- LCD
- DLP
