I'm deal with apparently a well know issue (but unacknowledged commonly) with the 'Cricket Chirp.' I have a thread in Cars & Bikes forum; Here , so I'm looking at al the fixes before doing something drastic like dropping the transmission.
One of those quick fixes is taking up the slack in the adjustable clutch rod linkage. I have to press the clutch pedal so far in I have discovered that it has left an indent in the plastic piece on the firewall. The link as it connects to the pedal arm is so loose it rattles. Should it be this way? Plus the clutch is pretty sensitive. About anyone that drives this truck will stall it before getting used to it. I wonder if that is symptomatic of the issue. Inputs? |

Quoted: Since it has turned cold I have noticed a shimmy in the steering wheel and a very noticable wobble at speed lower than 10mph. Once it warms up that goes away. I don't know what the issue is and it is very worrisome. |

seal on the steering damper is bad when its cold? Until I replaced the fuel injector o-rings my '90 Cherokee would leak gas if it was cold but would seal up fine when warm. Quoted:

It's a tire issue. Not uncommon up here in the cold for a tire to get a flat spot and pound til it rounds back out. Side to side tells me a belt in the tire is slipping. |

On my T100, that was a brake issue. Rotors, etc. The local Toyota dealer garage is actually okay, one of the mechanics HAS a T100. |

It's the clutch pedal bushing that squeaks. It needs replaced with a better one. You may want to look at replacing the clutch master and slave cylinder also. I did on mine at about 80K miles because they were starting to fail and cause the clutch pedal to stick down and the engagement was very rapid otherwise. If you adjust the linkage too far in the wrong direction though you can ruin the seals in the master cylinder when you press the pedal down. |

Clutch pedal bushings have been common on Toyota vehicles for many years. |
