I have seen tactical pens, tactical chopsticks, tactical toothbrushes, and even tactical toilet paper.
Other than charging more money what the fuck makes an item "tactical"? |

The best thing I can compare it to is "technical" in terms of outdoor gear and apparel. Technical items are geared around performance. They are more expensive due to design, materials, construction, etc that makes them tougher, work better, last longer, and weigh less or encumber you less while pursuing your outdoor adventure. A technical pack may have more focus on weight distribution, low weight, and access to compartments while wearing gloves and less comfort and "extras". I'm not a operator but I see some "tactical" gear that might do these things (better performance, more durability/reliability, less weight). A lot of it looks like dumb shit they colored coyote or multicam and slapped a bunch of PALS, zippers, and velcro on and called it tactical. Tactical shaving kit? Grow the fuck up. |
