you got a rail sys for it? if ya do get a surefire g2 nitrolion and a first samco mount for it, thats what i use on my m16

cheap, sturdy, and bright as hell,

i don't see why folks pay 80$ for a metal flashlight that they can get in synth material for 35$ and is damn near as strong.

Because the $80 one has the retention ring so the batteries aren't slamming into the back of the lamp with every shot.  That retention ring greatly increases life expectancy of the lamp - especially if you use the light on higher powred weapons (like shotguns).

BTW Skip the Fobus/First Samco mount.  Get the TDI, costs about the same (or cheaper), comes in your choice of 'tactical' colors, holds the light MUCH more securely, fits better on the rails (the FS units were made for Fobus rails which are slightly out of spec), and has a stronger dual bar mount - as opposed to the Fobus's single bar mount.

Contact BrightlFlashlights in the industry forum he can hook you up with a G2 and a TDI mount.

FYI the ElektroLumens XM-3 model I mentioned is aluminum (and heavy at 6oz), but runs on 2 AA batteries and uses an LED for a light source.  It 'only' puts out 60Lumens (compared to the G2s standard 65 Lumens - or it's optional 120 lumen lamp), so the 'throw' is a bit less than the XENON lamp G2s.  However it has 2x the runtime and the LED has a 10,000 hour life expectancy.

Last time I looked, we had a LIGHTS forum, AND an AK forum.
