surefire makes some lights that have a rail grabber built in to them, take a look at their website

you're suggesting a high dollar light to a guy who wants to use some old scope rings to mount a light. That's like having a father to son with your dog.Just ain't happening.

As compared to?  I guess you could always get a Maglight and some hose clamps.  Quality Equipment costs money, and so do those pretty ads in all the gunrags!

I see lots of people using a $30 Surefire G2 Nitrolon with rings.  I guess that might work.

Head over the AR-15 side and ask in the Lights & Lasers forum.  You'll lots of GOOD answers and you'll find some of those Surefire products aren't as expensive as their website indicates if you talk to some of the vendors on this site.

G2 or 6p surefire are good lights. Streamlight makes some good 1's too. Yuo may need a shock bezel for your light so you don't go thru lots of lamp assemblies.  Also fobus makes a $25  or so flashlight mount.  Check out  one of the vendors in the industry forum.

whatever that flashlight is, make sure it uses a shock isolated light housing.
