Not sure you can mount a Carry handle to it and they're not 20"

sounds sacrilegious but my other love besides the 20in AR, and full size 9mm pistols are AKs..... mainly the 103 and 74m

They are excellent rifles. Enjoy the hell out of my zpaps. Though I prefer my ak’s in 7.62x39 ??

Eat up cheap (not so much anymore) ammo like a rockstar. My first m70 zpap is north of 5,000 rounds with virtually no visible wear, and absolutely nothing abnormal.

They are nice, I just wish they would get rid of the Ruger like safety read the manual shit stamped on the side, really ruins a beautiful and classic rifle.

Sounds like something someone who didn't Read Owner's Manual Before Use would say

I put about 200rds through my M90 this morning actually. There are pros and cons to the rifle.

Pro's:

It's accurate for an AK. It uses ammo thats not almost exclusively made in Russia. The mags are a little expensive at $40 but they're built like a fucking tanks. You also can convert Galil mags. It has an awesome adjustable gas system. Zastava stands behind their products, from the factory my original gas tube was kinda messed up, and they sent a new one no questions asked. The barrels are chrome lined. The receiver is 1.5mm, the trunion is beefier than standard AK's, and the 18" 1x7 barrel all make for a gun that's heavy enough to absorb recoil well, especially combined with that adjustable gas setting.

Con's: As I said above ^ factory mags are $40 and it's a heavy gun. Also the non standard side scope rail makes adding an optic mount more difficult because every company that makes Yugo specific mounts seem to always be out of stock. Also the furniture is Yugo pattern only, but aftermarket pieces are more available than in the past. Zastava recommends you keep the factory trigger and NOT replace it with an ALG or other because it can cause premature wear on the carrier....but I think the factory trigger is fine. The original slant break it comes with sucks, but it's a standard 14x1LH pitch so muzzle attachments are easy to find.

But for my money (literally) I think it's one of the absolute best values you're going to find in AK's right now. I love mine.

Oh one other con to list......once you have mags for the 90 and see how well made it is and fall in love with shooting it, you're gonna want a ZPAP85 too.

No, and that's a reason why the older ones are some of the most accurate Kalasnjikovs out there.

The Facebook gun pages talk about Zastava using soft steel and wearing prematurely.

I don’t have one, but I’ve sold a bunch of them. No one has come back to complain.

Go look at AC Unity mags. They are around $13/ea from various places and have steel reinforced locking tabs.

If I would have went the SLR106 / PSA101 / WBP / Beryl route I would buy some to test; but I'm all set with Zastava and Galil mags. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Plus Galil mags give you 5 extra pews.

All of mine but the one factory mag the gun came with are AC Unity's. I had to file/smooth the rear locking tabs to get them to better fit,
but now I have a stack of custom-fit, sturdy, reliable, WINDOWED mags.

AC Unity is GTG.

This is my experience with the ac unity. Trim to fit bit works well.

There were some batches of NPAPs that had incorrect receiver heat treating. Some of this was revealed by the Battlefield Las Vegas AK abuse threat right here on this forum. The receivers would crack at a specific place under repetitive full auto use.

There also were reports of bolt carrier tail peening when the Zastava rifles were being sold by Century with G2 FCGs installed, which wasn't for very long. This is a problem that affected the G2 across almost all AK types, but for some reason people freaked out about it happening with Yugos specifically.

I have two Zastava rifles using RAK-1 FCGs and zero issue with the carrier tail. The carrier tail peening is one reason why I threw away all the G2 FCGs I had in all my AKs.

I like everything about my M92 except that the barrel wasn't chrome lined and also after I bought it (private sale) I realized the front sight was canted too far to get it zeroed and later discovered that was because the barrel was also canted so even if I straightened the sight post out it would work itself back canted again

I didn't want to stick someone else with that problem and I imagine getting it fixed would cost as much as a new rifle, so I just stuck one of those see-all sights on a handguard rail and it does alright as a range toy. I wouldn't judge the whole line off mine but I haven't had the greatest experience with them.

My only experience with full auto was actually on a pair of Yugos though - M85 and an M92, both converted by their gunsmith. The 85 was less nice to shoot but that 92 was remarkably smooth.

Both my M95 kits from around 2005 had chrome bores. I also reactivated the tritium sights

You have a gun the Century Monkies put together from parts, not a Zastava USA gun.

Not that it lessens getting screwed, but I wouldn't let it sour me on a new one.

Everyone that buys a CAI gun learns their lesson eventually. Including me.

My brother just bought a M70 with the factory side folder. Nice rife, feels very solid and smooth to operate, compared to the old SARs and WASRs we had in the past. Shoots nice, too. Accurate with steel cased ammo.

Nothing really to complain about. The folder feels nice and solid and locks up tight. Isn't uncomfortable to shoot, either.

I went both, but the utility of the Mini would win me over if I had to pick just one.
