In a hypothetical zombie situation, couldn't deployed tanks simply own it up? I really don't see what zombies could do against something like a Challenger 2. What say you? |

i agree, Flail Tank FTW. M4A4 Sherman V Crab Mark I Flail Tank ![]() ![]() Link to Chain Swingin' Goodness some hot water pressure washers, with the guys wearing chem suits and other stuff would take care of the blood, while a widely spaced grate would allow the tank to drive over the moat while the zombies would fall through the holes int he grate making them easy to shoot. |

In the movies and WWZ book, zombies are depicted as virtually indestructible except for brain loss via bullet (but not crushing sea pressures, overpressures from bomb blasts, etc.) and immune to blood loss. Now, of course that's all BS. They're not ghouls, ghosts or gobblins. They'd not be magical either. Just human beings whose minds are taken over by a virus. Now maybe a .22lr to the abdomen wouldn't stop them immediately, but it would bleed them dry in a few hours. Starvation and cold would also kill them - unlike in WWZ where they're depicted going on and on like the energizer bunny... So as a practical exercise in real-world scenarios, zombies wouldn't be the 'worst' case. A civil war between the 'red states and the blue states full of fully capable left wing nihilists would be worse. Even in the WWZ fiction, I don't think things would spiral that far out of control. Not with the sheer number of deer rifles and ammo available. |
See, Zombies don't need blood...they're dead...of course you could argue either side of the issue since they're fiction...so basically it depends on which types of zombies we're talking about here. |
False the correct answer is DITKA |
Well played....but I stand firm in my answer

I will not relent... a hurricane vs DITKA, what if the hurricane was named DITKA |
You know I have been thinking the same thing I just got done reading day by day armageddon, the rising, and in the middle of world war z and was thinking well hell why dont we just run em down with a tank, not like they can pop the hatch or do harm to it... |
+1 on the zombie-matic mine flail...just be sure to wear your MOPP gear or a Haz-Mat suit when exiting the vehicle in a safe area. Who knows how long the zombie virus stays active in body fluids & running thru a horde of zeds with the flail is bound to paint everything in infected blood/brains/goo. You don't need the heavy armor...zombies aren't going to be popping off RPGs, setting off IEDs or calling in arty on you. Even an old WWII recon type armored car would work, anything that can be buttoned up so the zeds can't grab you. |
| Given a large enough zombie swarm, a tracked vehicle could eventually get mired down in the bodies. Much like soft sand - it can get between the track and roadwheels and cause the roadwheels to rise up off the center guides, causing the track to sluff off to one side. You'd be trapped inside, in a huge zombie swarm. |
