Does anyone have any plans to make some wooden target stands that will hold USPSA/IPDA/Zombie Targets?

The range I qual at uses square steel tube in the ground and uses 2x2 lumber in a U shape with a single piece to the ground that inserts into the steel.  Brace the corners with a couple scraps of plywood or OSB and you are GTG.

If you want one that is easily movable than just make both sides to the ground and add some legs horizontal for support.

Target stands will get shot up eventually so cheap and easy is normally better.

I have a pvc stand, but the one I am using at the moment is somewhat more substantial.  I am shooting mostly NRA targets - my stand is a plywood box, reinforced with 4x4's on the corners and filled with sand.  The sand serves as a bullet trap, the box is large enough that I am not going to accidentally hit the corners, the front will be doubled, and tripled as needed (with 1/2" paperboard), then replaced.

I was afraid it would nave a lot of leakage - so far I have grass growing on the top, but have lost almost no sand.

The other range I shoot at has posts mounted in front the berm, a 2x4 frame and periodically replaces the paperboard.  They also have a few steel sled traps with 1/2 rubber sheet in front - but these are only pulled out for the youth program that owns them.
