I got this tattoo on April 27th,  2 days ago it started to itch around the 22. I run my hand over it and it feels raised. This normal?

Not for this long since you got it.

Hit it with some neosporin for a day or two and if not better, go see a dermatologist.

I've had my tats many years. Occasionally the outlines raise slightly and itch. I guess it's normal.

Bad decisions should itch: crabs, prison tats, contact dermatitis, etc. Most likely its the Hep B virus flaring up around where the rusty needle went in.

Scar tissue?  Meh, for a guy with a tattoo you worry a lot.

Some of mine have ridges on the edges or heavy areas.  I always assumed it was just from the thousands of needle pokes hammering ink into my skin.

It mostly happens during spring at the peak of allergy season. Only the outlines in black raise. The colored areas don't change at all. It's weird to feel it in relief.

hair growing through made mine itchy

raised skin I figured was a minor irritation reaction which turned out fine for me

if it really concerns you, talk to the artist or a dermatologist

I have one tat that itches and gets puffy (raised). The tat is  like 20 years old and its the only one that does it. I was told its a allergic reaction to that particular ink.

Its like a mosquito bite, dont itch it and it will calm down.

Some of mine raise slightly, it depends on the type of ink used.

I have a tattoo with alot of red and sometimes just the red will raise and itch. Doesnt last long though. And doesn't happen as often as it used to.  Other times the outline will raise and itch. Looks like whoever did it did a good job and really packed the color in there. Thats good.

I got one on my leg with a lot of color and its doing exactly what you're describing. Interestingly, I got mine in April as well.

I wonder if it has to do with the amount of colored space. None of my other tattoos did this, then again, none are as detailed or colored.

I had a tattoo become infected and it itched at first and then got red and inflamed.  It took two trips to the ER and some heavy duty antibiotics to heal the infection.  Yours doesn't look like mine was.

This,  1st tat I got whole thing raised, body reaction to the ink trying to push it back out, least thats what I thought, in the end turned out to be weeping blood and yes pushing ink and it was one big scab.  Due to work I had let it "dry out" as the positioning of it was not conducive to being slathered with antibiotic cream and open. later on it scabbed over and pushed out. week later scab falls off..

So stop worrying and just keep it moist with triple antibiotic cream I wouldn't recommend neosporin, least thats what the artist told me. He said "It's too aggressive"

mine puffed up, and turned the skin around it red. And hurt like a Mother effrr. Thats happened within the first week.

I have one that does, the others do not.  It is (is majority red, with black outline) red, the others are not. I do not know if that is relevant.

It is healed. He is talking about the tattoo getting a raised feel to it not scabbing. It happens from time to time to most people I know. It usually last a short while( an hour or two for me a bit longer for the wife) then goes down and may not do it again for months or longer.

Years ago I had problems with red ink raising like braille when exposed to the sun for a length of time. I guess the formaldyhide used back then has dissipated from my old tats because it hasnt done it in years

Some of even my oldest ones still raise a little when i swim in the ocean or stay submerged in water for a while

I have shitty skin for tattooing. Even my 25 year old tats are literally 3D, only black but still noticeably raised.
