They kept on recording for years after the 80's, but didn't have any hits.  I had no idea because I wasn't a fan.

The album with Shout and Everybody Wants To Rule The World is a good album.

This is the song I heard, and when they said it was TFF, I thought "I've never heard that one before"  That's because it's from the 90's.

I remember giving myself the facepalm while watching MTV and another Tears for Fears video came on in lieu of something new and cool(er)!

Tough teen years, I know...

A pop band that sings about serious shi'ite?

I approve of this thread.

I enjoyed their 90s album, Elemental.  Not the biggest band but good nonetheless.

I think they were just Fears for that one. No Tears.

IMO they were musical geniuses  - listen to "Sowing the Seeds of Love" loud on quality speakers - no shit, that song takes the best of the Beetles and multiples it by 10. Before you decry blasphemy, just give it a listen first.

Great guitar solo at the end of Shout.  Not the usual, in the middle, paint by numbers style, but an excellent one towards the end.

A good and talented band.

Curt Smith and Roland Orzabel....two seriously talented musicians.

Songs from the Big Chair was my first CD.

They had a number of really good songs after that CD, including Woman in Chains, Bad Man's Song, Sowing the Seeds of Love, Advice For The Young At Heart and Break It Down Again.  I'm not familiar with anything they did past that point.  Woman in Chains and Bad Man's Song are my favorites.

In about 1986, my best friend had a hairdo like Roland Orzabel's and I can't help but think of him during that period when I see the old Tears for Fears videos.

Let's speak the truth - the 80s produced some AWESOME music.

Their last album - Everybody Loves a Happy Ending - is simply musical genius from start to finish. Too bad it never had a chance in the current musical climate.

I will see them next time they come to Florida.  Been a fan ever since I bought Songs from the Big Chair on cassette.

I doubt there's a decade that produced so much great music in so many genres.

Head Over Heels was kinda a theme song for me and the wife.  We'd have to get up and dance around the room when that song came on.

Elemental was a TFF album only in name. It was more or less an Orzabal solo work and it wasn't until their last album that Smith came back into the band.

I remember waiting outside a Streetside Music store to buy Elemental when it was released.

I think that concert in Germany was one of their best videos and a great performance.  What was it, 2008?  I wish I was there.  They had an orchestra, a chorus and the 3 back up vocalists/dancers were wow wow WOW!

I used to commute to work on my motorcycle with these guys blaring in the headphones hidden beneath my helmet.

'Raoul & the Kings of Spain" was a pretty good album, though, like another album mentioned before, it was a TFF piece in name only.
