Does home insurance cover something crazy like that if your house gets swallowed up by one? Or is that a special additional coverage kind of thing? Scary stuff.

Don't know how accurate this article is, but it says only Florida requires insurers to cover it.

The county quietly bought the lot and the two adjacent lots last year. Don't know what they plan to do with it once they finish stabilizing the ground.
