Some quick googling reveals that this is almost certainly a scam ... and if not a scam, then just wishful thinking vaporware. One interesting fact is that the Volvo company actually own the rights to the REO truck name/trademark (from the old REO automotive company from the 50s) - so nobody would be able to build/sell a "REO pickup truck" with Volvo's involvement or licensing. |

I will say, Slate is a few days away from announcing pricing officially and they did the classic "oops, we dropped this leak" marketing move. Seems like they are still targeting the 25k mark starting which is not what I was expecting, but at the same point I wonder if that's just going to be the launch price just to say they had it at 25k and have it quickly adjusted from there. |

You know, I wouldn't be completely adverse to a basic bitch truck to to truck stuff with and this thing hits a good price point. This towing capacity, though, not going to cut it. The Maverick is actually a reasonably nice little pickup. What does this thing look like in terms of exterior/interior? The outlines on the website make it look kind of boxy. |
