Most of them don't say much about it, taking the standard line of Russian citizens that they don't get involved in politics. Ovie hasn't been like that. He accepted an award from Putin a bunch of years ago, and now accepts the request to appear in a campaign ad. He's not being silent, he's actively promoting the 21st century Hitler in his election campaign. He also helped form a group supporting Putin's campaign back around 2017 or 08. He's a supporter. |

Growing up in Columbus, OH in the early 90s there wasn't much for pro hockey (go Chill) so when I started to play roller hockey and doing learn to skate (much too late) I started following the Rangers. This was the 91-92 season. I gravitated towards Leetch. Fast forward to the CBJ coming to town. I was in college at this point. I was at the first game, my dad and his buddies had three seats right behind the visiting net for the first few seasons. Was I a CBJ fan? Not too much, although it was easier when they were in the West. They were always my second team behind the Rangers. Then the realignment happened. By this point my Dad and brother dropped the Rags and were complete CBJ fans. Over the last few seasons I've drifted off from the Rangers and have supported the Jackets. The brief glimmers of hope here and there were fun to cheer for and Drury makes me want to punch kittens. Now this past summer has been a complete SNAFU for both teams. Any promise the Jackets had is gonna fade real fast with Fantilli out and Marchy on the way out. Bones is great, but management and ownership suck. Long story short, both of my teams are complete garbage. |
