How many of you want a 25 and how many do not?
If Not, what is wrong with the 992.2? |
|
|
Do not. I don’t want a 992.1 either tho, so there’s that.
As for what’s “wrong” with it? Hell, the 991 cars are at the limit for what I’d consider the transition from an analog experience to a digital one. I think the 997 might be the best modern 911 in that regard. But that’s subjective. My specific likes/dislikes. They’re all good cars, just how do you want your 911 to feel? That’s all. |

Modern engines can run for decades and thousands of miles with basic maintenance; remind me of the last time a rechargeable battery system chalked up that level of reliability, durability or minimal cost. EV fanbois may be drawn to the hybrid 911, but many purists will turn away and once burned may not return to the brand. How long can a premium brand built on racing success survive on soy latte buyers? While I might consider a 992.2+ model with the normal (turbo'd) engine for a future touring car (assuming they include an option for a manual again), I won't buy a hybrid anything and the only near term car I would consider would be manual, NA-only GT3 992.2. |

It’s basically using the big dash screen in the car like your iPhone. When you use Waze (which I use all the time for checking cops/radar)….the Waze screen is huge and way better than looking at a tiny phone. I have a few cars without and a few with - definitely prefer it. |

I wouldn’t be buying first year models. 991 models can be picked up for a decent price right now. 997 I think will start climbing up, especially after the last PCA 997.2 article lol. After the read I’ve been looking for a 997 997.2 (but PDK) now at $51K Attached File Attached File https://rennlist.com/forums/market/1411497 Nice 991 for $67k Attached File |

View Quote I'm with you on this, the new 992 GTS hybrid weighs 1650kg - its both large and heavy, hardly a sports car more so with the hybrid component. As you say hybrid you start looking at other options, I ended up with a 296 GTB which sounds great, drives great and still has a uniqueness to it. The 992 GT3 RS didn't really offer anything over the 991.2 GT3 RS so I kept that. I own other Porsche sports cars but can't seem to get excited by the 992 series. Also, I don't know what its like in the current US market, but where I currently live dealers can't get rid of Taycans unless very heavily discounted. There is just something missing from EVs - no matter the manufacturers heritage, an EV becomes just that - the fridge of the car world. |

Word is that these will continue to be available alongside the new generation electric release next year. One would assuming after Q3/4 of 2025, it will be electric only for the Boxter/Cayman family. |

My allocation came yesterday for a 718 Cayman GTS 4.0. Seems I got their last allocation for 2024. And the build will start in August so its a 2025 model. The Porsche web site is now showing 2025 build data and 2025 pricing for 718's and 911's. According to the salesman, the whole ICE Cayman line-up goes electric starting in mid-year 2025. RS might stay ICE but good luck getting one and they are expensive. I'll know more tomorrow when I go place my deposit and order the car. |

So, I started employment at the new Porsche dealership near me, Porsche has a special lease program for employees and my wife went ahead and built this. This will be a bit as it's a 2025 model but quite happy the wife is onboard.

Definitely like the two tone red interior, don't go full red without seeing one in person. Red dash reflects off the windshield pretty badly. |

Slightly pathetic but I had to Google where the wheel tool is. (Turbo S with the centerlock)
I got a nail in the tire (2 months since I got it). I live hours away from a dealer. So a chain tire shop is all I have. I knew it was in the fronk somewhere. And so did the tire guy but it took Googles help. And now I know. |
