Kind of reminds me of Denver, but it's been a while.

Awesome pics man... but I'll see your two wheel landing and raise you a couple of hellfires... ;) Kidding of course, CH47Fs are the tits... sidenote, doing your old job here now that the Kiowas are gone... using the new Echo models in the day QRF/base security mission that was reserved for the Kiowa Warriors before they left several months ago. After flying like a KW the past few days... I see the appeal, as it beats left hand orbits at 1000 feet as far as passing time goes... but you still couldn't pay me to fly that tin can into the Tagab or any other hot spot for that matter... you guys were either crazy or stupid or both! Visor down to hide my ugly mug...

Guessing about 20 showed up today.

Didn't have anyone to take pictures so they are on the ground when I taxied to the hanger.

My neighbor's Stearman.  One of two on the street with the same paint scheme.  I have yet to see them in the air together, and may not get to.  This one is sold, and leaving in July.

Not mine, but it just sold for $75K  It leaves in July.  That was cheap for that one.  It has a 275 Jacobs.  The CS prop alone cost 10 grand.

My last logbook entry was in 11/2005 and lost my medical in 2006 due to HBP. The good news is that the medication that I take is approved by the FAA with my doctors write up. So I may get to fly here soon.

2000 in N7242F, my then 7 year old was a happy little dude that day.

I would like to get there for the labor day weekend.  Think they would allow an experimental taildragger to show up?

Would there be overnight camping or lodging close?

You can camp on the field by your plane.  Anything without a training wheel on the front is more than welcome (others are simply welcome).  It's a good time.  Another one that I'm looking forward to is Lee Bottom.

ETA: Of course, Lee Bottom is a Fly-in, vs Waynesville Air Show.

You are hoping the cubs will win?

One of my favorite landing strips is in this picture.  Can you spot it?  This field has 2 cubs, one champ 2 kitfox, 2 minimax, 2 gyrocopters, 2 quicksilver and several other aircraft.

Yep, got it.
Busy place.  It needs more Champs, though.  There's nothing like grass.  Here is my favorite strip...

Slipping over the trees for Runway 12.  2700' of fuzzy concrete.  We also have 06-24, 2400' that crosses at the far end, just beyond the hangar.  We have 2 Stearman, a Hatz, a Stinson, and my Champ.  That's my house and pond.  My hangar is scheduled to be built in November.

Nice,  Do you keep your plane at Red Stewart now?  My farm strip is 1000 x
65 ft.  Power lines 350 ft from the south end and 65 ft trees 200 ft
from the north.
Coming into Zollinger strip with my PPC.

My strip.  I wouldn't take a 65 hp champ in there.

We have had the Kitfoxs and PPCs here.  It is 2 miles from Zollinger strip and we use it when we need a N/S strip to avoid the crosswind.  For the PPCs it is nice to have a N/S and E/W strip so close together.

runway is from the grass waterway behind the house to the pond left of the wing strut.  Fly north over then pond then you have the creek and trees.  Not the best picture but gives you an idea what we have.

Very nice!  PPC's look like a blast!

My plane is in the hangar at the far end of the runway that I'm landing on.  It's a set of community T-hangars that mostly contain tractors and such.  It's not a bad setup, but I'm ready for my own hangar.  November is the soonest the company that's building it can get it done.  We just moved here in January, but it's starting to come together.  My wife has her horses here at the little farm right off the end of the runway, so she's happy, too.  Now you have me in the mood to go flying, so I think I will.
