If fat adapted, 3-4 hrs of steady state aerobic work is relatively doable. Without caloric intake...

I did an hour swim and 2.5 hrs on my bike trainer this morning...fasted... Now my ass hurts... First time on the bike trainer for 2? Weeks... Foot improving...

I had water (4 liters and salt/electrolytes.) No carbs, no food... no bonk.

Fuck carb loads, fuck gels and sugar during zone 2 work...

Looks like I'll make my calorie goal again today.  I ate about 6 tablespoons of PB through the day, just by grabbing one every once in a while.

That's nearly 1,000 calories right there!  Pretty much all fat too.

Wifey is making BBQ chicken with mashed sweet potatoes for dinner, but I'm way behind on my moonlighting work so I'll be up half the night getting a few really obnoxious houseplans ready to be stamped.

That sounds so good.

I had mostly raw ground chuck on top of spinach covered in blue cheese dressing.

This never came back while I was on Keto. Strength not a problem, but any time I tried a metcon or running or rowing or supersets I wanted to die.

I need muh energy back. I was having to rest so much between sets.

I feel much better today. Almost don't miss carbs.

I guess I need to go get some of those test strips.

Down 7#s since Monday,

Does your piss smell like kerosene? Does your wife not want to kiss you because your breath smells like hot garbage? If so, congratulations, you're in ketosis. If not, you're still eating too many carbs.

(test strips are a waste of money.)

Be prepared for your energy to not come back. This is why I stopped keto. Also, your 7# is water weight. Sorry. :(

Fat adaptation takes months... Months.

After you're adapted, you can use carbs strategically for power sessions.

Best of both worlds...

So I decided to have the surgery to rebuild my AC.

Does anyone had experience with Osgood Schlatter?

I had it in one knee as a teenager, and it somewhat healed and stopped bothering me for the most part. Lately however it's been really tender and painful. I'm not sure what triggered it, as I've been squatting heavy now for years. Doing some reading, this is what I'm planning on doing:

-Rolling quads more (stretching them too much hurts which is probably an indication they're too tight)
-Stretching hamstrings more
-Strengthen hamstrings (GHR as accessory- I suspect I've been neglecting hamstring strength)

Any other tips/experience?

Good luck man. Mine has slowly been healing. Hoping I don't need the surgery route, but if it goes downhill again I may be in touch to see how you're recovery is going.

I tripped when I was about 23 and tore it, but I had been bothered by it for years.  I ended up with surgery and never had a problem other than kneeling on something hard.

The lump on my knee sticks out maybe 1" or a little more.

How long ago did you injure it?

My AC was a complete tear.  I did it now because it was still acute, which I gather means he can still use my existing ligaments and recovery is supposed to be 6-8 weeks versus 14-20 down the road.

Surgery was a breeze for me.  I was back walking in a few days and full capacity within a couple of weeks.  That was nearly 20 years ago now (damn I'm old) and it does get sore frequently but I can't say for sure that it's from the same cause.

Keto day 5, feeling great. Didn't feel as fatigued during my workout. Then did a half mile sprint felt good for not having run in a while and had plenty of energy.

Have been eating at a calorie deficit, going to stop that.

Sugar cravings pretty much gone.

Ugh.  I have 6 days till my sprint competition with my 16yo son.  We ran ladders 2 months ago against each other using posts in the hay field for our increments then a sprint to the road in front of the house.  I bet him his chores against mine that I could beat him 3 out of 5 and won by the skin of my teeth. Now we have a bet for my 40th birthday next week for the same run, only the stakes are $150 cash.

I'm not much of a sprinter, more of a...  Lazy.  That's what I am.

Maybe I'll have to try that meth in the avocado trick, does that work?

Stupid shit I heard at the gym. Some hippy chick was talking about how holistic herbal voodoo gurus (forget what she actually called them) have more training and education than medical doctors. Also, MD's don't know anything about the meds the prescribe. They just give them out because those big, evil pill companies are paying them to.

I've got some friends with a Rife machine.  It's a little electronic gizmo that you attach to parts of your body and it extracts the cash from your wallet.  They really want me to use it, think it will fix me up.

Any soccer mom with an iPad, wifi connection, and the desire to control everything around them, will accept garbage they read (proclaimed to others as "research") to tell a medical professional how to treat the said condition of the patient. Some grasp towards what we will refer to here as the "Earth Crazies". These are nut jobs that think can "naturally" cure everything with high concentrations of different blends of oils and powders extracted from random easy to grow plants, fruits, and shrubbery.

These oils and powders are sold in small quantities for a premium price, often 87x the cost of a 18 year old scotch (and actual medication) or water based sex lubricant. While minor success is found with using these natural oils and powders, often in lotions and skin creams applied for dry skin, most of what herbal voodoo Earth Crazies preach is largely discredited due to lack of results in double blind medical research studies completed by universities, and labs contracted by the FDA. But of course, the Earth Crazies will discard this formal information because of scary key phases like "large pharmaceutical", "GMO", "synthetic medication", and "George Bush", but will the whole thing because of a cute interweb picture and a 4 step "how to naturally cure (insert pretty much anything here)".

In most cases of what the soccer mom Earth Crazy find in her Pinterest "how to" research, millions of patient conditions are improperly (self) diagnosed every year and passed over as "naturally healed" with herbal "treatments". Outside of minor cases of eczema, these patient conditions are not actually cured, but the patient just outlived the ailment. This of course does not including those that died while being force fed the wrong treatment (these cases are cast aside and not included in the Earth Crazies iPad research due to possible criminal charges because "I'm a better mom than that". So we won't refer to them here). Then the now semi holistic self proclaimed herbal voodoo guru Earth Crazy proclaim across mass social media about how an oil that officially labels itself with the statements like "Not evaluated by the FDA," and "not intended to diagnose, treat or cure, or prevent any diseas" actually properly acted as a placebo. This begins the infection of the next generation of Earth Crazies that are online browsing.

Edit- missed a quote mark.

My wife was into the essential oil thing for a little bit, which has its own cult following. My daughter would resist going to sleep, still does. So she tried a few different oils in a diffuser as recommended for about a month and we never noticed any change in her behavior. All that stuff did was make the house smell good (her opinion, not mine). I have noticed most essential oil fanatics have already passed on their DNA, which seems to go against the idea of evolutionary strengthening of the gene pool.
