| What makes this weapons os bad? Besides its a french weapon. |
IMHO, the (iron-only) sights are its weakest point. Aside from that (if you are comfortable with the whole bullpup concept), it is an excellent rifle from what I know. They use a round that is basically M193 (there may be minor differences). |
If it means anything, the French Foriegn Legion troops on the special on the history channel (?) had the FAMAS. Do you think they would prescribe to the specops logic in the same way? |
I think that the French troops are of good quality. Their army, as a whole, may be third rate, but that doesn't reflect the quaility of their soldiers. |
Sweet mother of airsoft, that's nasty. |

opps! please forgive me! |
Good to see that you're still around, dewoitine. The FAMAS is more like an AK-47 than an M-16, if that makes any sense. It's reasonably accurate, but not really a tack-driver, but you can drag the thing through the dirt and the mud all day. It's awkward to adjust to the bullpup; you have to do things differently than you would with a conventional rifle, but once you get the hang of it, it's no slower or more cumbersome, just different. |

Now a few words from someone who actually owned one... The Good: Fit and finish were very very good. Very well made rifle. Very compact. Rugged. Reliable. Never had a malf. Very manageable shooting characteristics. Recoil was not noticable. Built in bipod was nice. **** The Bad: Barrel not chromed. Mine developed a small rust pit after a few hundred rounds. But it was 1/9 5.56 NATO. VERY short sight radius. Front sight VERY (almost unimaginably) crappy...it was a slat of sheet metal that had a set screw in the side to BEND it to one side or the other for windage adjustments. Kind heavy, about 8.5 lbs if I remember. ***** Any other questions just ask. |
|
Very high rate of fire. Completely ambidexterous for all controls, charging handle, and case ejection! Feeds from a 35rd box mag, but also takes M16 mags. .223/5.56mm SS109. Same bullet as the M855, less velocity usually. Bullpup. Ugly as sin. Built like a french whore. |

Eh...it's a matter of opinion. The Neutral Observer likes the bugle. Others might not. The Neutral Observer happens to personally like the AK-47. The Neutral Observer prefers it to the M-16 and it's variants. Others may feel differently. It comes down to what you can reliably make shots with. If you can do that, all other considerations are secondary. |
Thx
