They've been playing the shit out of this lately on TV.  It's not an emotionally or intellectually deep movie, but dammed if I don't always stop and watch.  It's just one of those fun movies you can't help but love.  Anybody else here just can't pass up The Fifth Element, or am I just a meat popcicle?

Sadly you're not alone. I can't stop myself from watching it either. That and Army of Darkness.

I like that movie.  Don't know exactly why, just do.

Negative.  I am a meat popsicle.  That line always makes me laugh.

The first time I saw it, it was in the theater and I thought it was the dumbest movie I ever saw.

But it grows on you and I feel the same way you do.

Love it now.  Took me about 5 viewings before I figured out all the humor.

On one level I'm astonished Chris Tucker found work after that. On another level I'm not surprised at all.

It might have something to do with Milla Jovovich.

I've had it on DVD for years and never watch it... but dang if I can just pass it on by when I come across it channel-surfing.

I was reading the trivia for it, and appearantly, on all the license plates, although you never see it, they all say "New York- The Fuck You State."  How cool is that?

I love the cinema of it - the costumes, sets, lighting, and camera angles ... very well done.

The movie is so full of win in the one liner quote category...

Zorg: A case with four stones in it! Not one or two or three but four! Four stones! What the hell am I supposed to do with an empty case?

David: They really made her...
Priest Vito Cornelius: Perfect. I know.

Zorg: I hate warriors, too narrow-minded. I'll tell you what I do like though: a killer, a dyed-in-the-wool killer. Cold blooded, clean, methodical and thorough. Now a real killer, when he picked up the ZF-1, would've immediately asked about the little red button on the bottom of the gun.

Police: Are you classified as human?
Korben Dallas: Negative, I am a meat popsicle.

Korben's Mother: You miserable bastard! I never should've pushed you out.

Bruce is having too damn much fun with it and Milla is just too adorable/yummy for words.

Gary Oldman and the rest of the supporting cast does a great job with it too.

One of my fav flicks:

I remember it doing HORRIBLE at the box office.

But when I waited to see it as a rental, a 99 cent rental, I was blown away at how good a value it was considering it is a LONG movie to boot.

Goes down as one of the most under rated movies ever, some stupid reviewers were just too full of themselves to appreciate it for what it was.

Great movie.
