We all know the big three, and even the Cajuns have their own.
I say for firearms enthusiasts: John M. Browning, Eugene Stoner, and Samuel Colt. Agree? Disagree? And if any of you says Kalashnikov, you deserve a timeout. |

Really a time out for Kalashnikov, really are that fucking ignorant. No it's not an AR, but has seen more battle field use and more killing than any other. It is the true weapon of mass destruction, it's user-friendliness and rudimetery design are it's greatest assets. No it's not the refined rifle of a professional soldier, but it will kill you just as dead.
If it's a time out so be it but your a fucking idot for not including Kalashnikov |

Hate to break it to you but there are very few truly orignal designs to come out of the 20th century

Quoted: Garand, Stoner, Gaston All one-trick ponies. Sure, there are multiple calibers and mag lengths but it is all the same pistol. Compare 1911, Hi-Power, M1894 Winchester, M1895 Winchester, M1919/M2 machine guns, Remington M24, Browning Auto 5, BAR...and far more I don't remember...plus a shit ton of other Cult pistols. Savage had more unique designs than those three. |

Unknown - pronounced as "Un-ka-nome" by Tuco in The Good, The Bad & The Ugly. Unknown is responsible for giving us rifling that imparted a spin on boolits, making them fly farther, straighter.
Casimir Lefaucheux - developed the first metallic pinfire cartridge. This later evolved into the rimfire cartridge and later center-fire cartridge, which made semi-automatic and selective fire firearms possible. Browning - Gawd's Prophet on Earth. All modern designers pale in light of his achievements. |
