Could you kill an animal that you thought was the last of its kind?
On Netflix streaming. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1703148/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1 |

No, never. I like hunting and shooting as much as the next, but it's a shame that our insatiable appetite for everything has resulted in the eradication and extinction of so many amazing species, many of which the average person doesn't know even existed.
I wish that I had the chance to see Cape and Barbary Lions as well as any of the thousands of other species that will never again walk The Earth. |

Cape and Barbary lions were variations of African plains lions. They did not go extinct so much as interbred into other populations. Several zoos claim to have purebred examples in captivity. . There is great debate as to whether they existed as even a distinct subspecies. |

I would think that I wouldn't. Even now, I won't take an animal in my area if it is rare... even if their population as a whole across the country is substantial. Great movie though.

Pretty sure they're on their way out Countries that have enacted sustainable hunting are doing far better than the places that have banned it outright. Hunting has shown time and again to be a great way to ensure the survival of species in modern times. The animals become an economic benefit instead of a burden for the locals so they no longer try to wipe them out. It is easy to talk about elephants needing to be preserved and not hunted or killed in the US but when you live in Africa and they wipe out your crops, destroy your house and trample your kids you see no reason to keep them around. There is another aspect that no one ever seems to talk about. Animal species go extinct all the time, is our unending drive to save every one just not more meddling on our part? |
